The photo can help distinguish the booking record of one person from another, but it does not show the outcome of a charge. It also does not establish whether the person remains confined or has been released.
Release and photo proof must be handled separately. The current roster can show an active booking with an image. Once the name is no longer displayed, the sheriff publishes no archive period for the former detail. The completed release record supplies the date, reason, and destination if those fields exist, while a separate request for the associated booking photo supplies the image. A court docket may explain the legal result without preserving the same photograph.

Choose the official custodian whenever identification or record treatment matters. A secondary copy can outlast the source record, omit later case action, or show a photo from the wrong booking.
Delaware Sheriff Mugshot Access
The Delaware County current inmate listing is the verified public website route for a county booking photo. Search by last name and open the matching current detail. Compare the full name, date of birth, booking date, arresting agency, cases, and charges before relying on the image. Similar names and repeat bookings can otherwise lead to a mistaken match.
The official detail code builds a booking-image path and also labels Scheduled Release. That scheduled field is prospective. It does not prove the person has left, and the current interface offers no released-person tab. The official roster code shown below documents the available detail fields and image construction.
The screenshot confirms why the live detail is useful while a booking remains active and why it cannot function as a released-mugshot archive afterward.

No Delaware Released Photo Feed
Delaware County publishes no official 24-hour, 72-hour, 48-hour, or other released-inmate feed. The current roster has no former-entry archive or stated retention period. There is also no verified official sheriff mobile app advertising jail lookup, recent releases, or mugshot access. An app should not be invented merely because other counties use one.
Official DCSO accounts on major social platforms can carry an incident-specific image, and local reporting may reproduce an agency photo. Neither channel has a routine released-photo policy. A post about an arrest may remain online after the custody status changes. Check its date, identify the issuing agency, and use the jail or court record for the current outcome.
The Delaware County 24-Hour Release List explains the same absence of a county release feed and gives the official same-day verification chain. It should not be used as a gallery.
Request a Delaware Booking Photo
After the current detail is gone, a focused sheriff request is the best official county route. Use the DCSO public-records form, email publicrecords@co.delaware.oh.us, call 740-833-2860, fax 740-833-2889, or submit in person at 1776 State Route 521 in Delaware. A written request is preferred but not required.
- Identify the person with full name and another reliable identifier when known.
- Give the approximate booking date, incident date, case number, report number, or booking number.
- Ask specifically for the booking photograph associated with that booking. Request it separately from the release fields.
- If release proof is also needed, ask for the completed release date and time, recorded disposition, and destination or receiving agency.
- Request electronic delivery and releasable portions. Ask for the legal basis of any withholding or redaction.
The sheriff warns of a large backlog and significant delay. No fixed response time should be promised. Under the current ORC 149.43 Public Records Act, responsive records are prepared for inspection at reasonable times and copies are supplied within a reasonable period at cost, subject to exemptions. Nonexempt portions should be released, with redactions identified.

ODRC Delaware Released Offender Photos
The ODRC Offender Search includes an Offender Photo field in state correctional detail. Search by ODRC number when known, or use the person's name and carefully match date of birth, committing county, docket, judge, and offense. Status options include Released and APA Supervision as well as current incarceration.
An ODRC image belongs to the state correctional record. It may differ from the Delaware County booking photograph, and it is not the right source for someone who bonded out or completed a county-only jail stay without entering ODRC. County of Commitment means the sentencing county, not current residence. Use Delaware as a narrowing tool, then repeat without that filter if multiple committing counties complicate the result.
Read status and Parole or Release Detail separately from the photo. The image identifies a state record; it does not prove completed release or the end of supervision. If the online result is unclear, ODRC Central Records accepts focused requests with the offender number and docket.
Limited Delaware Mugshot Sources
VINELink may show identifying data or a photo depending on the reporting agency, but it is built for custody status and notifications. It should not be treated as a permanent photo library. A VINE General Release event concerns the reporting custodian's status change. A Transfer event means the person left that facility for another custodian, not that the person entered the community.
The official Delaware offender registry may show a photograph for a person who falls within its statutory category. It is not a complete list of people released from jail. An absent registry result says nothing about whether an ordinary booking occurred. The same limit applies to other category-specific registries.
Local news and official agency posts may preserve an incident image. Treat those as incident context, not as the current official custody or release record. Commercial sites may mirror stale images, omit case results, or charge for changes. They are not linked, recommended, or used as confirmation.
Note: A secondary image should always be checked against the dated official booking, court, and custody records.
Ohio Law on Delaware Mugshots
ORC 2927.22 defines covered criminal-record information to include a booking photograph with identifying or charge information. It prohibits a publisher or disseminator from negligently soliciting or accepting payment from the depicted person to remove, correct, modify, or refrain from publishing that information.
The law is an anti-pay-to-remove rule. It does not impose a blanket ban on lawful official disclosure, and it does not mean every publication is forbidden. Violations can support criminal and civil consequences described in the statute. A person should use the official record and court process rather than assume that payment to a private removal service changes the source record.
Other public-record limits still apply. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, victim, medical, security, and other protected information may be withheld or redacted. The correct question is whether the custodian has a public responsive image under the law in effect when the request is handled.
Delaware Mugshots After Expungement
Sealing and expungement can change how an official booking record is accessed or treated. The Delaware County Clerk forms provide the local application route. Eligibility and timing depend on the offense, final discharge, prior record, statutory exclusions, and the current version of Ohio law.
Final discharge does not simply mean the day someone walked out of jail. Unfinished probation, parole, post-release control, unpaid sentence components where legally relevant, or another part of the judgment may affect the timeline. Under ORC 2953.32 and ORC 2953.34, sealing and expungement have separate eligibility periods and procedures. A court order controls the official treatment.
A missing photo after an order is not proof that no booking occurred. Conversely, an old secondary copy does not show that the official record remains open. Give the court order to the official custodian and ask how the source record is handled. Private publishers control their own copies subject to law, but no commercial removal service is endorsed.

Read Delaware Booking Photos Carefully
A photo should always be attached to its source record. Record the agency, booking date, booking number, case number, and date the source was checked. Those details distinguish an image from a prior booking, an ODRC photograph, a registry photo, or an incident release.
